FIFA Orders Nigeria to Pay Gernot Rohr 157 Million Naira Compensation Within 45 Days
The Nigerian Football Federation has been ordered by The Federation of International Football (FIFA) to pay former Super Eagles head coach his early contract termination of $378,000 (about N157million).
Rohr was appointed manager in 2016 by the Amaju Pinnick- led administration and had his appointment terminated in December 2021, following the bad results of the Super Eagles during the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier with only about a month to the AFCON this year.
The initial agreement between the NFF and Gernot Rohr was to pay his salary until the end of his contract (December 2022).
Rohr, 68, has reported the NFF to FIFA as regards his compensation.

According to BSN Sports via Team Nigeria UK, Rohr has been granted $377,879.46 from his initial $1.2million, sought total after a FIFA tribunal decision saw his claim to be “partially accepted in so far as it is admissible.” The ruling by FIFA added that the NFF would be sanctioned if Rohr was not paid in full within 45 days.
If full payment (including all applicable interest) is not made within 45 days of notification of this decision, the respondent [the NFF] shall be imposed a restriction on receiving a percentage of development funding, up until the due amounts are paid,” the body said.
Since the termination of the Franco-German contract, the NFF has appointed Eguavoen and now, Jose Peseiro.
The 68-year-old German won bronze for Nigeria at AFCON 2019 in Egypt and also qualified Nigeria for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
