Ahmed Musa Offers to Help Former Olympic Athlete, Bassey Etim Following Viral Video of Him Filling Potholes in Ajah

Super Eagles star Ahmed Musa has offered to assist former Nigerian Olympic Athlete Bassey Etim, who was spotted filling potholes in Ajah.

In a viral video which made rounds, Bassey Etim was seen in a pathetic condition filling potholes around the Ajah area of Lekki, Lagos.
The athlete made it a priority to help the community to fill up their potholes.

Bassey, who won a gold medal at the 1983 Commonwealth Games in Malta, stated that he suffered an injury while representing Nigeria at the 1984 Olympic Games.
Opening up on his reason for taking up the job, Etim revealed that he had to spend his life savings for his treatment claiming Nigeria abandoned him.

He further stated,

“I sustained an injury, and when I came back, Nigeria refused to take care of my injury, so I had to use my life savings to go back to America in September 1985 to take care of the injury.

But I still come out to volunteer myself to give back to my country. People are saying, ‘why should you do that? They didn’t take care of you’”.

The video, which went viral, drew the attention of Ahmed Musa.

Seeing the touching video, Ahmed Musa offered to help him.

The Super Eagles captain requested his contact.

“How can I get to him pls”.

Updating the public, Sports journalist Babajide Orevba revealed that Musa had sent him N500,000.

“I just finished speaking with him now. I sent him N500,000”. Musa said.
