Tems Sets Record with Fifth US Billboard Hot 100 Entry

Rave-making superstar, Temilade Openiyi, aka Tems, has made history by becoming the Nigerian with the most entries on US Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Tems made the record with her fifth entry on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with Beyonce’s ‘Move’ debuting at number 55 on the chart dated August 13, 2022.
The award winning star added her Afrobeats vibes and lovely melodies to Legendary singer, Beyonce’s new track, “Move”. The song for which she has a songwriting credit is off Beyonce’s new ‘RENAISSANCE’ album and also features Grace Jones.

‘Move’ becomes her fifth entry after Essence (remix.)” ft. Wizkid & Justin Beiber which peaked at No.9, Drake’s ‘Fountains’ which peaked at number 26 in September 2016. as well as “Wait for You” ft. Future & Drake which peaked on top of the charts (at No.1.). She also scored her first solo entry recently with her 2020 single ‘Free Mind’ debuting at number 90.
Tems has now broken her four-entry tie with compatriot, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun aka Wizkid with whom she previously held the record for most Billboard Hot 100 entries by a Nigerian artiste.
Wizkid previously held the record as the only African artiste with four Billboard Hot 100 Entries.
His international hit/BET Best Collaboration award-winning single, “Essence” ft. Tems and Justin Beiber spent 35 weeks on the chart and peaked at number 9, Drake’s One Dance-peak #1, Beyonce’s Brown Skin Girl- peak#76, Essence-peak#9 & Chris Brown’s Call me Everyday-peak#76.
Tems now has three songs currently on the chart; her first solo entry “Free Mind” peak #77 has now spent three weeks on the chart as well as Future’s Wait for you ft. Drake #5 has spent 14 weeks on the chart.
