Charly Boy Reacts To Accusation Of Owing 7 Years Rent, Leaving Landlady Heartbroken
In response to allegations he owes seven years’ rent in Lagos State, controversial Nigerian singer Charles Oputa has responded.
Trouble came for Charly Boy after making a statement that he never heard of the victimizationof the Igbopeople in the western part of Nigeria being different to the harassment of the Yoruba in the southwest.
In a Twitter post, the singer made a statement that Igbos are general targets of ethnic antagonism whenever the election period comes closer.
He tweeted: “Almost 70 years, I have lived. I have never heard any story of my Yoruba brothers being harassed or terrorized in the eastern part of this country. Why is the reverse the case in the west? What offence did their Igbo brothers commit to always be targeted any time an election draws near?”
Reacting to the claim, a man who was said to be Charly Boy’s former Neighbour claimed he was never harassed despite living in the Gbagada area of Lagos for up to seven years without paying rent and pulling down a fence to set up his studio.
He tweeted: “We were Neighbours at 1 Ajidagan Street, 2nd Pedro, Gbagada. Charly Boy pulled down our fence with his to put a 20 ft container in the rented property for a studio.
“Apart from destroying the house, his Yoruba landlady died heartbroken, fighting to collect 7 yrs rent Charly boy owed.”

Facing said allegations, Charly Boy made another post that claimed that his tweet seemed like a trouble for people.
