Ogunseyi Akinfolarin, a former in-law of Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, has been charged with forgery and illegal conversion of N26 million and appeared before an Akure High Court.

The defendant is Naomi Silekunola’s brother, who was the Ooni of Ife’s previous spouse.

Akinfolarin was accused of forging the Atibiti Faaye family’s receipt for the acquisition of 32 land plots. He was charged with forgery and illegal money conversion on three counts.

One of the charges read: “That you, Ogunseyi Akinfolarin, fraudulently convert the sum of N26m being proceeds of the sale of plots of land belonging to Atibuti Oni at Akure, Ondo State.”
