JUST IN: Messi’s Argentina are World Champions

After an enthralling 3-3 scoreline in over two hours of competitive football, Argentina have triumphed over France in the final of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

The Argentine captain and talisman, Lionel Messi, drew the first blood from the spot and Angel Di Maria added a second by finishing a fine team move to make it 2-0.
French coach, Didier Deschamps, made a couple of changes in the second half and his team responded with two quick fire goals from Kylian Mbappe to draw level.
Both Messi and Mbappe exchanged goals again in extra time before the thrilling game was forced into the lottery of penalties.
Mbappe scored first followed by Messi but two players missed for the French and the South Americans won by 4-2.
