Junior Pope Odonwodo, a Nollywood actor, has described his encounter with armed robbers in Ubulu Okiti, Delta State.

The actor took to Instagram to share the harrowing experience that occurred on Sunday while they were returning home from a film set.

“Last night while coming back from work I was robbed at gunpoint,” he said in the video shared on Monday.

“I was riding in my car with my colleagues, Georgina Ibeh and Shire twins and we were robbed around Ubulu Okiti at gunpoint.

Odonwodo claimed to have seen the robbers’ roadblock from a distance. However, when he attempted to reverse his vehicle, he collided with a colleague, Emma Umeh, who was driving behind him.

Following that, the armed robbers emerged from the bushes flanking the road, ordered them to lie down, and ransacked the vehicle.

“When they asked us to drive away, we drove. On getting to the Customs checkpoint, we reported,” he continued. “The Customs actually told us that a first set of people had come to report that they were stabbed, injured. It’s a regular occurrence on that same spot.”

The actor also revealed that the robbers nearly raped Georgina Ibeh, whom they left at the scene of the incident. She claims she was only released after telling the men she was on her period.

The actor urged the appropriate authorities to take action on the specific road because it had become a recurring issue.

“It’s not like the police don’t know, I’m very sure they know this. I’m calling on the Commissioner of Police, Delta state. I’m calling on the Governor of Delta state, Ifeanyi Okowa to please do something about this,”
