For the second iteration of Film in a Box Lagos, the Africa Film Academy (AFA) has teamed up with the Lagos State Ministry for Tourism, Arts & Culture as part of the Lagos State Creative Industry (LACI) project.

The program, which was started by the late Peace Anyiam Osigwe, will offer youths in Epe, Badagry, Ikeja, Ikorodu, and Lagos Island free training.

AFA and LASG intend to empower new filmmakers by offering training and mentorship to support the expansion of the creative industry in Lagos, building on the success of the inaugural edition.

890 young Lagosians were trained in the inaugural edition, and many of them have already been incorporated into Nollywood’s main stream.

“Film in a Box is a capacity-building framework that educates individuals with the necessary skill sets in the Creative Industry arena, enabling the individual to be economically empowered,” says Mr. Habib Sheidu, a training and strategy associate with the AFA.
