The Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny’s ex-girlfriend, Carliz De La Cruz, has filed a lawsuit against him, alleging that a voice recording she gave him before he rose to fame has been exploited without her consent.
Cruz claimed that because of “negligence and an attack on her privacy and dignity,” she is entitled to $40 million in damages.
Carliz, who recorded the words “Bad Bunny baby” on her phone in 2015, has filed a lawsuit against the rapper, alleging that he exploited it in two of his tracks without her permission.
While “Dos Mil 16” has more than 60 million YouTube views and more than 280 million Spotify plays, “Pa Ti” has amassed more than 355 million YouTube views and over 235 million Spotify plays.

Prior to the release of Bad Bunny’s most recent album, “Un Verano Sin Ti,” the rapper allegedly made an offer to his ex-girlfriend to purchase the rights to the line for the sum of $2,000 in court paperwork prepared by Carliz’s attorneys.

Carlos said that it is a “attack on her privacy, morals, and dignity” that her recordings have been utilized in performances, calling it “gross negligence, bad faith, and worse still.”
Carliz said in the court documents that the 29-year-old rapper’s supporters’ abuse has left her feeling “overwhelmed and anxious” and that she is now seeking “psychologists for help.”
In 2011, the couple began dating and shared a grocery store job, with Bad Bunny also pursuing a side music career.
However, they broke up in 2016.
