Desmond Elliott has stated his desire to collaborate with Olumide Oworu, a younger colleague and rival.
In the most recent state governor and assembly elections, Oworu had run against Elliot, who was just recently re-elected to represent Surulere Constituency I in the Lagos State Assembly. To Elliot, he fell short.

Elliot stated his desire to collaborate with Oworu and other political candidates after being proclaimed the winner of the race, saying he is open to doing so as long as they all have ideas for how to advance the constituency.
“Please I am more than willing to work with you and share ideas on how to make our dear constituency a better place. I pledge to give my utmost best at giving succour and relief to my constituents to the best of my Legislative ability,”
