The Super Falcons of Nigeria will face England in the round of 16 at the ongoing 2023 Women’s World taking place in Australia and New Zealand.

The Super Falcons had a goalless draw against Ireland on Monday which made them finish runners up in Group B with 5 points while their English counterparts topped their group after defeating China by 6 goals to 1.

Nigeria’s round of 16 game aginst the Lionesses of England is scheduled for Monday, August 7, 2023 by 8:30am, Nigerian time.

The Nigerian girls defeated Australia, the host nation, and had a goalless draw against Canada, the Olympic champions, and now they will face England, the European champions.

Super Falcons forward, Rasheedat Ajibade, however expressed her confidence in the team. She said the team is limitless and can achieve anything they put their mind to.

“Honestly, I must tell you that nobody believed in us because of the kind of preparations we had for the World Cup but of course, we have always believed in ourselves,” Ajibade said.
