Orisa: Odunlade Adekola Bags First International Award
Congratulations have been trailing the international award for Nollywood actor Odunlade Adekola for his first cinema project, Orisa.
Earlier today, the actor shared the good news on his Instagram page, jubilating about his milestone. Odunlade especially thanked the cast and crew of the film for their wonderful performances, as well as the production house, Film One.

On Instagram, FilmOne praised Odunlade Adekola for his outstanding movie that captured the hearts of viewers across Africa, stating it was a well-deserved win.

Recall that Odunlade Adekola’s Orisa broke records in cinemas while it was still streaming.
An online post by the actor revealed that the movie grossed over 60 million naira within two weeks of its launch.
He broke the record for the Nollywood movies that maintained the number 1 spot for 2 consecutive weeks—the biggest indigenous film of 2023 and the biggest Nollywood of 2023.
Funke Akindele is currently the highest-grossing Nollywood actress and filmmaker. Her movies Battle on Buka Street and Omo Ghetto: The Saga are respectively the first and second highest-grossing Nollywood films, respectively.
Battle on Buka Street netted 640 million naira at the box office, beating Omo Ghetto’s Saga by 636 million naira.
