Student Subair Enitan of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) has denied reports that she ended up in the hospital following her attempt to break the Guinness World Record by beginning a handwashing marathon.
A video featuring Enitan thanking her school, sponsors, and supporters was posted on the marathon’s official X handle. She was very explicit about the fact that she ended up in the hospital.

“First of all, I’m sure you can see I’m very much okay. So to the people trending saying I landed in the hospital. I didn’t land in the hospital and these are my hands. I am better. I’ve been in my house with family members, my team members. I’ve been sleeping. I woke up this evening to take pictures. I have been very fine. Just dey play o. Nothing is wrong with me.”
On Friday, November 24, Enitan began the marathon and completed 58 hours of washing, surpassing her target of 50 hours.
The Guinness World Record has not yet verified Enitan’s attempt to break the record.
