Singer Ayra Starr has been under fire from Nigerians after she apologised to renowned musician King Sunny Ade for an awkward public greeting.
Ayra apologised for her error and addressed the 77-year-old music icon as “Uncle” in the letter after she shook hands casually with her at a public event.

Although the 21-year-old singer hardly noticed the iconic 77-year-old singer, she was seen interacting with high-profile people at the event. Internet users quickly mocked the “Bloody Samaritan” phenomenon, which forced the singer to apologise for her conduct.

“I’m so sorry, I had just walked in and all the lights and nerves didn’t let me see but i came back around to greet everyone properly, I have never been that girl to be disrespectful, I’m a proper Yoruba girlllll and the video didn’t start until after I’d greeted burna’s mom! I’m very sorry to the legend, uncle and King Sunny Ade,” she wrote.

However, there were differing opinions on her apology, with some criticising her for referring to the singer as her uncle.
