“Journey to a world where nothing is as it seems.” An official trailer for the animated series Iwájū, which will be available for streaming on D+ globally beginning at the end of February, has been released by Disney+.

This exciting new science fiction animated series is a “love letter to Lagos and Nigeria” and marks the first time that Disney Animation and Kugali, an outside studio, have ever collaborated. Iwaju, which was written and directed by Ziki Nelson, a co-founder of Kugali, is a future portrayal of Lagos that centres on two children, Tola and Kole, who are raised in stark contrast to one another in a metropolis that is divided between the wealthy and the poor.

Bode, a computer pioneer whose futuristic innovations conceal a criminal underworld he rules with an iron grip, puts their friendship to the test.

A Lagos-based animated science fiction series with a comic book style that tackles issues of class, innocence, and questioning the status quo. Simisola Gbadamosi, Dayo Okeniyi, Femi Branch, Siji Soetan, and Weruche Opia are among the voices heard in Iwájú.

This series features some truly amazing graphics in addition to a compelling narrative about cooperating to combat greed and corruption.
