In order to improve the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program’s functioning, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Tuesday asked local governments and the organised private sector to provide sufficient assistance.

At the NYSC Orientation Camp, Issele-Uku, during the swearing-in of NYSC Batch A Stream 1, Oborevwori made the request.

The state commissioner for girl child entrepreneurship and humanitarian support services, Ms. Orode Uduaghan, represented Oborevwori.

According to him, corp members might optimise their creative and productive potential for faster national growth if they received enough support and encouragement.

“While I implore all stakeholders to ensure that they render the requisite support and encouragement to the scheme, I challenge corps members to see themselves as critical agents of positive change and development,” he said.
