Saratu Gidado: Why Family Deactivated Kannywood Icon’s Social Media Accounts

The social media handles of Kannywood Actress, Saratu Gidado, popularly called Daso, were deleted on Wednesday morning.

Daso who died on Tuesday in her sleep was a popular comedian with more than a million followers on both Instagram and TikTok.

Hours after her death, her videos began to resurface on social media with some people criticising her mode of dressing and the contents of some of the videos as against the culture and teachings of Islam.

Not long ago, an announcement from the family came through a Kannywood actress Mansurah Isah that whoever has those videos should delete them on his/her phone.

She also made the announcement on the deactivation of Daso’s social media handles.

“Alhamdulillah, Mama Daso’s social media handles were successfully deactivated on both Instagram and TikTok.

“Mama Daso’s Family are requesting a favour that whoever has the deceased video that is contrary to the teachings of Islam and our culture should delete them.

“For the sake of Allah and his Prophet Muhammad S.A.W,” she wrote.
