Naira Abuse: EFCC Arrests Socialite Cubana Chief Priest

In a recent development, popular Nigerian socialite and businessman, Cubana Chief Priest, was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged naira abuse.

The popular socialite will be arraigned before Justice Kehinde Ogundare on three counts of alleged abuse of the Nigerian currency, naira, at a social event, thereby violating the provisions of the Central Bank Act of 2007.

In a statement to our correspondent, the spokesperson for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Dele Oyewale, confirmed the development on Tuesday. The high-profile arrest underscores the seriousness with which the authorities are tackling alleged violations of the recently implemented naira policy.

According to Oyewale, “the Cubana Chief Priest is in our custody, and he’ll be arraigned in court tomorrow (Wednesday).”
