Nigerian rapper and singer Zlatan Ibile, also known as Omoniyi Temidayo Raphael, recently took to social media to celebrate his progress as a musician.
Zlatan Ibile uploaded a photo on his verified Instagram page from ten years ago, when he won a car in a talent event.
At the age of 19, he won Airtel’s “One Mic Campus Tour” music competition in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
This victory signalled the start of his adventure in the Nigerian music industry. Since then, Zlatan Ibile has achieved notoriety and success with hit songs and collaborations with renowned singers including as Olamide, Davido, Burna Boy, Wizkid, and others.

Zlatan Ibile thanked the kids of Mapoly, where he previously studied, for their assistance in helping him win the car. He can’t believe it’s been ten years since that moment, but he is still driven and committed to his music career.
Zlatan Ibile wrote: “10 years ago, there was no Zlatan Ibile. All there was, was an aspiring footballer. Mapoly students believed in me by ensuring I won this contest! From then, everything changed from football to music. I did not have 2 personal songs let alone a hit until 2017 with Baddo. Thank you to every Mapoly student who stood by me.
