Former Arsenal Striker Kevin Campbell Dies at Age 54

The football community is in mourning as former Arsenal and Everton striker, Kevin Campbell, passes away at the age of 54. Campbell’s death was announced by his former club, Arsenal, in a statement released on Saturday.

“We are devastated to learn that our former striker Kevin Campbell has died after a short illness. Kevin was adored by everyone at the club. All of us are thinking of his friends and family at this difficult time. Rest in peace, Kevin.”

According to the report, the former Everton striker have been hospitalized since May and his death was met with an outpouring of tributes from the football community. Campbell played for Arsenal from 1985 to 1995, scoring 60 goals in 224 appearances. He was a key player in the club’s success during the early 1990s, winning the First Division title in 1991, the FA Cup and League Cup double in 1993, and the European Cup Winners’ Cup in 1994.

 

Campbell also played for Nottingham Forest, Trabzonspor, Everton, West Bromwich Albion, and Cardiff City, before retiring in 2007. He is survived by his son, Tyrese Campbell, who currently plays for Stoke City. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and the football community.
