Adeyanj revealed that Speed Darlington, also known as Akpi, was arrested following a petition signed by Grammy Award-winning performer Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy.

According to the lawyer, Akpi was arrested in Lagos last Friday and brought to Abuja, where he is still detained.

However, in a post on his X Twitter on Tuesday, Deji Adeyanju did not provide any details about the petition.

He wrote: “We just spent the last 30mins with Speed Darlington and he narrated how he was arrested in Lagos Friday last week, moved around and eventually brought to Abuja and has been in detention since then. Petition against him was written by Burna Boy, we can confirm.”

Speed Darlington had questioned the legitimacy of Burna Boy’s Grammy prize, linking the musician to Sean Combs, often known as P Diddy or Puff Daddy.

On Tuesday morning, Burna Boy posted on his X handle, “Who’s Missing?”

As of press time, the Nigerian Police Force has not yet released any details about the arrest.
