Toke Makinwa refuted reports of a new marriage at her 40th birthday Thanksgiving dinner in Lagos.
On Sunday night, social media allegations surfaced claiming that the media celebrity secretly married Farouk Umar, an entertainment guru, at the Oriental Hotel on Victoria Island.
Rumours spread quickly as a video of the couple, dressed in a white dress with ‘buba and sokoto’, exchanging lovey-dovey moments went viral on social media.

Toke, however, denied the reports during the celebration and stressed that they are only friends, adding that he was there for her during her difficult moments.
She said:“On Obasanjo’s internet, they said I got married to this guy. This guy is my best friend. Listen, on Toke Makinwa’s internet, they said I married Farouk. Farouk, my friend, ore mi.. this is my nigga and my friend, my brother, who wan marry you. Farouk held me down when there was nobody.”
