In the run-up to the governorship election, Funke Akindele breaks another record in Nollywood.

The “Box office queen” has demonstrated that she is her sole competitor with her most recent success.

FilmOne reports that the Funke-produced movie “Battle On Buka Street” has officially surpassed the previous record with box office receipts totaling N640 million.

Before the most recent movie broke it, the politician’s film “Omo Ghetto: The Story” held the record at N636 million.

The movie Battle On Buka Street, which was released in December 2022, is about two women who got into a fight after starting a food business on the same street, which sparked conflict and animosity between their families.

It starred actresses including Tina Mba, Tobi Makinde, Mercy Johnson-Okojie, Nkem Owoh, Bimbo Ademoye, Funke Akindele, and Sola Sobowale.
