Ahead of the 66th Grammy Awards presentation, the Recording Academy has announced the addition of the Best African Performance category as well as two new categories.

This information was released in a statement on Tuesday by Harvey Mason Jr., the Recording Academy’s CEO, who also revealed two additional categories, including Best Alternative Jazz Album and Best Pop Dance Recording.
The new categories, according to Harvey, who also announced that the producer of the year, non-classical, and songwriter of the year, non-classical, categories will be shifted to the general area, symbolise the wide variety of pertinent musical genres.
