I’m not much of a  football fanatic to start with, but  the recent transfer fees of  Brazilian Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain football club to Al-Hilal in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia imperatively deserves my attention.

His move stands arguably as one of the most expensive transactions in football history.

The transfer fees or contract that was to be paid seem ridiculously outrageous to a certain extent, even beyond human comprehension if you like to say. Neymar has become one of the world’s highest-paid athletes after agreeing a £138million annual salary at Al Hilal.

The football star will take home £276m once his two-year contract in the Middle East comes to an end. This will see the former Barcelona forward bank £138m-per-season.

To break it further, the Brazilian star, Neymer, will earn:
$150 million per year
12.5 million per month
Approximately $2.0548 million per week
Approximately $410,958.90 per day
Approximately $17,123.29 per hour.

However, the ‘extravagance’ doesn’t end in the above. The additional perks Neymar will enjoy after joining the Saudi side elevate this transfer to unparalleled heights for any football player across the globe.

Beyond his substantial salary, reports indicate that Neymar will also be entitled to:

A private jet at his disposal
A 25-bedroom mansion with swimming pool and saunas
Five full-time personal staff
€80,000 bonus for every Al-Hilal win
€500,000 for every story he posts to promote Saudi Arabia
A 24-hour driver
Three luxurious cars consisting of a Lamborghini Huracan
Paid bills of hotels and restaurants

However, Neymar has explained his main motivation behind signing for Al-Hilal and it isn’t his eye-watering salary but rather his strong and unflinching desire to ‘write new sporting history’ that persuaded him to join Arabian football club.

“I have achieved a lot in Europe and enjoyed special times, but I have always wanted to be a global player and test myself with new challenges and opportunities in new places.

“I want to write new sporting history, and the Saudi Pro League has tremendous energy and quality players at the moment.

“I have heard a lot and learned that I am following a long list of Brazilian players who have played in Saudi Arabia over the years, so I believe it is the desired place.

“Al-Hilal is a giant club with fantastic fans, and it is the best in Asia. This gives me a feeling that it is the right decision for me at the right time with the right club.

“I love winning and scoring goals, and I plan to continue doing that in Saudi Arabia and with Al Hilal,” Neymer professed.

The Brazilian ended his six years at Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday, becoming the latest star to join the Saudi Pro League, signing for a fee that could rise to £86million.

But unlike his new teammates, Neymar has a whole load of very specific, luxurious demands included in the deal that’s made him the third highest paid star in the league behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.

Al-Hilal, is the most successful club in Saudi Arabia and Asia, they have won 66 trophies and hold the record for the highest number of league and Asian Champions League titles, with 18 and four respectively.

But with Al-Hilal also making huge transfers, they will be desperate to win their sixth championship in eight years. That is what gave birth to their desire to strengthen the squad.

It goes without saying that Neymer will have a whale of time with Al-Hilal hence, It would be the hope of the club that he helps write new history and keep it where it has been for a long time – on top.
