Saudi Arabia Secures 2-Year Deal to Host Women’s Tennis WTA Finals

In a major coup for the kingdom, Saudi Arabia has signed a lucrative multiyear deal with the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) to host the season-ending WTA Finals in the country’s capital, Riyadh, from 2024 to 2026. The announcement marks yet another professional sports event acquired by Saudi Arabia in recent years, signaling the country’s growing role in the world of international athletics.

Saudi Minister of Sport Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal Al Saud said on Thursday that,
“To have a women’s tournament of this magnitude and profile is a defining moment for tennis in Saudi Arabia. The WTA Finals has the power to inspire far beyond the sport, especially for our young girls and women.”

The Saudi government has invested heavily in expanding its sports and entertainment offerings in recent years as part of its broader initiative to diversify the economy and improve its international standing.
