The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, had announced the appointment of Bruno Labbadia as the new head coach of the Super Eagles.

However, the German gaffer on Friday, August 30, 2024, rescinded his decision to manage the Eagles over unsuccessful contract talks, the media reported.

He is best known for his time as a striker with teams like 1. FC Nürnberg, Hamburger SV, and Bayer Leverkusen.
